ITINERARY
We set off at 7:30 a. m. from Szentbékkálla. Our first stop is at the Keleményes cliff from where there is an amazing view over Szentbékkálla and the Kopasz Mountain. We go hiking along the Fekete Mountain where we can take pleasure in marvellous fields, small crater lakes and a fabulous panorama over the Káli Basin. We descend towards Balatonhenye and then we walk to Monoszló where we take a longer break.
From here we head for the Hegyestű where we can get acquainted with the volcanism of the Balaton Uplands and the formation of the buttes. From here we descend to the southern part of the Káli Basin. Our path goes through forests and later fields. In the meantime, we can make a detour to Kis Hegyestű as well as to an abandoned mine where white sand can be seen.
Our next stop is the church ruins of Sóstókál and then from here we go to the Kornyi Lake (home of ground-squirrels) and then return to Szentbékálla where we presumably arrive at around 6 or 7 p.m.
